How to completely uninstall and reinstall Canvas 15

To perform a standard un-installation, please use the uninstall feature in Windows. Go to Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs (Windows XP) or Control Panel | Programs and Features (Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8), to uninstall the application.

To completely uninstall Canvas 15, try the following steps

For Windows XP
  1. Uninstall Canvas 15 from "Control Panel | Add or Remove Program"
  2. Delete the Canvas 15 application settings under the user profile folder
    • In Windows Explorer, navigate to this folder: C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Application Data\ACD Systems
    • Delete the "Canvas 15" folder
    Note : If you cannot view the Application Data folder:
    • In Windows Explorer, click menu : Tools (or View) | Folder Options.
    • Click the View Tab.
    • Select Show Hidden Files and Folders.
    • Click Apply
    • Click OK
  3. Navigate to C:\Program Files\ACD Systems
    • Delete the "Canvas 15" folder if it exists
  4. Now, please be very careful with the following steps:
    • From the 'Start Menu' click 'Run'.
    • Type in 'Regedit' and click 'OK'.
    • You are now in the Windows Registry Editor
    • Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ACD Systems\
    • Delete the 'Canvas 15' folder if it exists
    • Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ACD Systems\LM\Canvas
    • Delete the '150' folder if it exists
    • Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ACD Systems\Canvas (for 32-bit OS) or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ACD Systems\Canvas (for 64-bit OS)
    • Delete the '150' folder if it exists
    • Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ACD Systems\LM\Canvas (for 32-bit OS) or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ACD Systems\LM\Canvas (for 64-bit OS)
    • Delete the '150' folder if it exists
    • Exit the Windows Registry Editor.
  5. Reinstall Canvas 15, register with Canvas 15 license code and your acdID account.


For Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows Vista

  1. Uninstall Canvas 15 from "Control Panel | Programs and Features"
  2. Delete the Canvas 15 application settings under the user profile folder
    • In Windows Explorer, navigate to this folder:
      \users\{user name}\AppData\Roaming\ACD Systems
    • Delete the "Canvas 15" folder
    Note : If you cannot view the AppData folder:
    • Go to Control Panel | Folder Options.
    • Click the View Tab.
    • Select Show Hidden Files and Folders.
    • Click Apply
    • Click OK
  3. Navigate to C:\Program Files\ACD Systems
    • Delete the "Canvas 15" folder if it exists
  4. Now, please be very careful with the following steps:
    • From the 'Start Menu' click 'Run'.
    • Type in 'Regedit' and click 'OK'.
    • You are now in the Windows Registry Editor
    • Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ACD Systems\
    • Delete the 'Canvas 15' folder if it exists
    • Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ACD Systems\LM\Canvas
    • Delete the '150' folder if it exists
    • Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ACD Systems\Canvas (for 32-bit OS) or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ACD Systems\Canvas (for 64-bit OS)
    • Delete the '150' folder if it exists
    • Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ACD Systems\LM\Canvas (for 32-bit OS) or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ACD Systems\LM\Canvas (for 64-bit OS)
    • Delete the '150' folder if it exists
    • Exit the Windows Registry Editor.
  5. Reinstall Canvas 15, and register with the Canvas 15 license code and your acdID account
